Themselves

Educational Support Services helps children with learning, attention, and behavioral challenges through personalized strategies, direct support, teacher guidance, and family counseling. We specialize in complex cases, working with families and educators worldwide to discover what each child needs to thrive.

Services

Comprehensive Evaluations

We will pinpoint the difficulties a child is having and trace them back to their source. A variety of factors can contribute to a child's difficulties, including what, where, when, or how we ask a child to complete tasks. We evaluate children within the system of school and family life that surrounds them daily.

Precision Instruction

We identify the fine points of what works and what does not work for each child's success. We teach the full range of academic subjects for all grade levels. We utilize each child's strengths to boost his weakness. We will either find or invent the approach that fits your child's learning preferences.

Counseling and Emotional Support

Perfectionism, low self-esteem, fear of failure, sense of futility, and defiance are common attitudes and emotions that children with difficulties exhibit. Our focus on the whole child leads us to counsel children as we teach or advocate for them. Through mutual respect and sincere care we have been able to encourage children to successfully do things that others thought would be impossible.

Inclusion and Placement

We set up a classroom within a classroom - a classroom of one within mainstream classrooms. We coordinate with each teacher so that our client participates in the mainstream class to the best of his ability, and we also meet privately with the child during the school day for skill-building sessions. Each child advances at his level, while being a productive member of the class.

Advocacy

We represent each child and his family while negotiating with teachers and school administrators for modifications regarding class placement, subject requirements, homework expectations, and special services. Children and their families trust us as their hired professionals who know from decades of experience about how to secure the best situation for them.

Staff Training

Schools that have seen our work on behalf of their students have repeatedly asked us to share our expertise with their staff members. We work closely with each teacher who hosts our clients, resulting in gains for all students in the class. We also conduct formal training sessions for schools and parenting organizations. We tailor our presentations to target the specific needs of each group.
